May the Fourth be with you.

Sorry I am such a SciFi Geek but (not really sorry)….just had to get that out of the way. 😀

I guess that it is some sort of genetic directive that in times of scarcity, or pandemic – we humans start gardening. I am no exception. Getting seeds started, and rearranging the back yard to accommodate a container and raised bed garden – I’m rationalizing that there will be fresh veggies in a few weeks/months to pay for this activity.

But really, I am playing in the dirt. And that’s okay. Because playing in the dirt helps you with depression (no, I don’t think I am depressed, but I do feel good when I’ve done stuff in the yard) and also playing in the dirt is proven to help build your immune system. So there’s that.

I also feel good when I walk the dog (we get to be outside, see the neighborhood pets and wildlife, wave to the neighbors) – it probably also boosts our immune system.

Any of you out there setting up a garden or tending one you’ve already got going? How does it make you feel?
