With no school, there is very little traffic in our neighborhood in the morning. Walking with the dog is more relaxed than when I was watching for kids and cars (I still watch for them, but they just seem much further apart when they appear at all).
This morning we saw a bicyclist, a couple of joggers, and a walker (without a dog), plus our regularly seen dog walking folks. Also several crows, hummingbirds, a hawk, multiple bunnies, and a retreating coyote crossed our path.
The best part of the cool crisp morning was that the various homes with orange trees are cloaked in the heady aroma of orange blossom. The air tastes like an orange creamsicle. It is great!
Simple pleasures I guess. And ones I would not trade for anything.
Just as the smell of freshly baked bread is comforting, the lovely fragrances of jasmine and orange blossoms are transcendent. It makes me think of Middle Earth and the Shire in the good days. Or Narnia after the Winter has passed and Spring comes forth.
In short, it helps remind me that there are magical miracles everywhere, if only I take the time to notice them.
Here’s hoping you have a marvelous, miraculous, and magical day!
