Can we help too much? Do all the efforts that are ignored, or weakly accepted only to fall away into disuse, count as helping? Should we continue to want someone to be better, to improve their life, to meet their talents head on with success - when they, themselves, refuse to take the outreached hand? How many times should we try before we give up? Or should we keep trying, no matter that the object of our hope and faith will continue to smile, say yes, and then do nothing. Or worse, head further down the path they have chosen leading to destruction, or to poverty, or to an underpass somewhere - lost and alone. At what point do we give up? Where is the line that says "here and no further"? Can we help too much?
